A dorsal view of Hamburger and Hamilton stage 17 chick embryo, which has been electroporated with a morpholino tagged with FITC (green) and immunostained for Pax-7 (red) and HNK (blue). Pax-7 is expressed in the dorsal neural tube, neural crest and somites, while HNK is expressed in migrating neural crest cells. The anterior end of the embryo is oriented toward the top of the image while the posterior end is oriented toward the bottom.

A lateral view of a stage 25 Xenopus laevis embryo that has been immunostained for :
a) 12/101, a marker of terminally differentiated myotome, in conjunction with a goat anti-mouse IgG1 secondary antibody conjugated to Alexa Fluor 647 (blue).
b) Tor70, a notochord-specific marker, in conjunction with a goat anti-mouse IgM secondary antibody conjugated to Alexa Fluor 555 (red).
The anterior end of the embryo is oriented towards the right.

June - November

This image shows a cross section of a HH stage 19 chick that was co-electroporated with Sfrp2nucGFP and Wnt3amemGFP constructs (green). A mititic marker, anti-phosphohistone H3 with anti-rabbit Cy3 secondary antibody is shown in red. The blue staining is Pax-7 with anti-mouse Cy5 secondary antibody.

Gustavo Gomez, Denetclaw Lab.
A living transverse section through the trunk of a HH stage 17 chick. Dermomyotome cells were transfected with a farnesylated-GFP plasmid at HH 14, 24 hours earlier, and counterstained with the cell membrane dye, FM 4-64 (purple) as a counterstain.

1. The GFP-positive filopodia are derived from GFP-positive cells of the dermomyotome. 2. The image shows branching of filopodia at the dermomyotome. 3. There are cells depositing from the dermomyotome into the myotome.
